Telephone support puts Elephant Charity on Cloud Nine

NewVoiceMedia has given a charity free use of its cloud-based telephony solution to help the way it handles calls from donors.

The Elephant Family, which tries to save Asian elephants from extinction and abuse, will benefit from technology that will be used to create a bid hotline, manned by Elephant Family staff and volunteers during the summer’s Elephant parade, in London.

This year’s parade will feature 255 pieces of art that represent life-sized baby elephants, decorated by designers and artists, such as Lulu Guinness, Sir Paul Smith, Sir Terence Conran and Tommy Hilfiger. Pieces will be auctioned off with the aim of raising £2million for other charity and 20 other UK aid organisations.

Ruth Powys, Elephant Family chief executive said: “The beauty of the NewVoiceMedia solution is that it’s easy to use. We have a short period of time to train up our volunteers so they can spend the maximum amount of time manning the phones and helping to bring in those all-important donations.

“The system is also very flexible, so there’s no need for all of our volunteers to be situated in a call centre. They can work for us from home if that’s easier for them.â€
